Daily Quite Time: 15 Minutes Alone with God, Week 11 and 12

Hi Friends,

I’ve combined weeks 11 and 12 since there are only three readings in week twelve. After that Wednesday, we’re on break until October 1st. I encourage you during the break to review some of your favorite verses or to read some Psalms or Proverbs during your daily quiet time.

I’m really excited about our study of Galatians and Ephesians that begins on October 1st! I’ve been thinking, praying, and reading in preparation for this study a lot over the last few weeks. We’re going to do it a little different from our study of Philippians, and I hope the changes help to encourage you more as you work to make daily time with God a habit.

Grab your coffee and join me as we finish up with Emilie and what God is speaking to us through her.

God bless you this week!

Daily Quiet Time: 15 Minutes Alone with God, Week 9

Hi Friends,

Well, we’re in the new apartment now. Yeah! I have been very thankful for this book over the past several weeks. It was so much easier to stick to my commitment since each day was planned in advance. I hope it’s working out for you, too.

For those single ladies who are doing this study, too, thank you so much for your patience these past few weeks. I didn’t realize how marriage based the book was when I recommended it. Our next study should work better for all walks of life.

Speaking of what ideas do you have? Right now I’m really leaning toward one of Paul’s others letters. Thoughts?

Grab your coffee and come join me in my new digs this week. As we sit down with Emilie to deepen our relationship with God.

Have a great week! God Bless,

Hi Friends,

Good morning! Sorry this is late today. We’ve been moving and packing and rearranging. In all that I totally forgot I hadn’t posted. Oops!

We only have a few weeks left, so keep thinking about what you need from the next study. A book like this one, a topic, or a book of the Bible? Right now I’m leaning toward a topical study or another of Paul’s letters, what do you think?

Let me know in the comments, as you come join me this week. My house is getting sparser by the day, but the coffee pot is still out. Grab a cup as we sit down together to study God’s word…

Have a great week!

Daily Quiet Time: 15 Minutes Alone with God, Week 7

Hi Friends,

Wow! Even though the summer is over, my life is getting even busier. How about yours? I’m so glad that I have Emilie’s book to help keep me on track with my quiet time each day. Knowing I can still learn a lot and connect with God even if I only have 15 minutes is really helping me do better this time. Is it helping you, too?

My Birthday was this week and I got a Keurig. Yeah! So now I can have my coffee fast and easy without the risk of waking up the boys with a lot of noise. Double score!

www.freedigitalphotos.net

I’ve been trying to wake up early to do my quiet time, but with weaning, potty training, and Ethan in a big boy bed, that isn’t always happening. Nap time is my fall back time (It’s always good for me to have a plan B). Have you gotten into a routine yet and found a time of day that works for you? I hope so.

Whatever time of day works best for you, grab your coffee and come join me this week as we dive into God’s word again.

Have a great week!

Daily Quiet Time: 15 Minutes Alone with God, Week 6

Hi Friends,

Wow! After this week we’ll be halfway through this study. This time has gone by fast! In the last six weeks, we have waited (some more) and prayed about where to go next. Now we have our answer, so, hopefully, in the next six weeks we’ll move and get settled.

www.freedigitalphotos.net

I’ve found Emilie’s comments this week challenging, and I look forward to see what the next week holds. Like some of you have mentioned, I’ve be particularly blessed by some of the verses in our readings. The one that is the most helpful to me right now is, “My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in Christ Jesus” (Phil. 4:19, ESV). That one is really good for me to remember as we pack up for the third time this year. What verses have meant the most to you this week?

Today, I’m sitting here in the afternoon on the first cooler day in a while with my hot tea. Please join me as we open our study together and learn more about God’s word.
Have a great week!

Hi Friends,

If you’re just rejoining us after summer break, that’s okay! With this particular study, you can pick it up at any time and not be behind.

I hope you had a great summer and are ready to jump back in. Emilie has had many great ideas (Weekend away with your husband? Yes, Please!) and ways to apply what we’re learning each day to our lives. I love her ideas because most aren’t all that time consuming, but they do make a big impact in your walk with God and your family life.

So curl up in your favorite chair with your coffee (or lemonade in your in the South, it’s hot here!) and join us as we study together.

Have a great week!

Daily Quiet Time: 15 Minutes Alone with God, Week 4

Hi Friends,

We’re now in week 4 of this study. How is it going so far? Have you been able to keep your commitment to spend time with God most days?

How is the study going for you? Are you learning a lot? I know I am. I really appreciate Emilie’s thoughts and that she begins and ends with God’s word. I also like her suggestions about how to apply what we’ve read about that day. I don’t follow her suggestions everyday, but there are some here and there that really fit where I’m at.

www.freedigitalphotos.net

I’m so glad you’re back here for another week of study. And even if you’re not studying the same book or material, that’s fine! As we’re getting further into the book, I’m seeing that Emilie’s words may not apply very well to all our walks.

Whatever you’re studying, I’m so glad you’re here and working on keeping your commitment to continue to grow your relationship with God.

So grab your coffee or tea and come join us as we sit down to study God’s work this week. Have a great week, and God bless!

Daily Quiet Time: 15 Minutes Alone with God, Week 3

Hi Readers!

I’m so glad you all are doing this study along with me. Knowing I’m going to post the next group of devos we’ll do each Monday, keeps me accountable to staying on track.

I hope our group is helping you stay on track, too. How are you doing in your own daily quiet time? Are you finding time each day to spend with God? Or have you fallen off the wagon and need to hop back on?

Don’t worry if you’ve fallen off. Just grab your book, and hop back on with this week’s devos. That’s what so nice about this particular book, if you’ve quit following along, you haven’t missed anything. You can just pick right back up with this week and keep going.

You are welcome at my table any time. Come as you are. Pull up your chair, grab your favorite coffee (mine is Peaberry Kona, Yum!), and join us as we spend 15 Minutes Alone with God each day this week.

Have a great week, and God bless!

Daily Quiet Time: 15 Minutes Alone with God, Week 1

Hi Readers!

This is our first week in the book 15 Minutes Alone with God by Emilie Barnes. I haven’t started reading it myself yet, but from flipping through the book, it looks like it will be a great one to use to help us in our daily quiet time.

I especially like the fact that there is no certain order to it. So if you don’t have your book yet, don’t worry. You can pick one up and start at the beginning or wherever we are on that particular day. If you fall off the wagon for a few days or so. No problem! It’s easy to pick right back up and start again.

The schedule I’m going to give each Monday is going to go straight through the book cover to cover. However, if you want to jump around, and read devotionals that speak to you more on a given day, please do so!

As you read and study, please share your thoughts with us on our Facebook group page. If you haven’t joined us there yet. Please do so. The move to a Group page should make it easier to post comments and make the discussions much easier to follow.

freedigitalphotos.net

To make it easier to follow our study schedule, you might consider subscribing by email. That way you can easily access the schedule at any time, especially on your smart phones. The link to subscribe by email is at the right.

Have a great week! May God bless your time as you study His Word. I’ve already poured your coffee, so pull up a chair and let’s get started…

Love you and God Bless!

t.

PS. Even though this book is written for women, there is a 15 Minutes Alone with God for Men written by Bob Barnes. It’s format is similar to that of the women’s book. So men of the group, please don’t feel left out. Just grab a copy of this book and feel free to post on our Facebook page any ideas or thoughts you have from your reading.
